Extended partition and lost files on primary partition

    Hi Everyone,

I was trying to extend a partition since on an old Windows drive which was upgraded to a new drive. On the old drive, there was 50GB unused on another partition. I deleted the 50GB and then tried to extend the main primary partition. I found out that it deleted a user directory under that drive. Is there any way to recover it? I am surprised that it did this since in Linux on a LVM this is a pretty safe procedure.

I also tried OO Unerase and it didn't even show the directory.

    Thanks

Data Recovery Software to Undelete Files; Disk recovery; Recover Deleted Files

A snip from their site , as a quick look that it is able to get things back under essentially identical situations !

Boot free Partition Wizard bootable CD, run Partition Recovery Wizard to see if you can recover your partition to unallocated space created for that purpose. Partition Wizard

If this fails run PW CD File Recovery Wizard, or try Recuva freeware: Recuva - Features
