Hidden Desktop Shortcuts' Hotkey not working

Last night (about 23 hours ago) I made shortcuts of my most used programs to my desktop. I then designated hotkeys to each shortcut as well as making the shortcuts "Hidden".

Last night, the Hotkeys were working perfectly, but now as I turned on my computer the hotkeys don't seem to work anymore.

Any kind of help is very much appreciated

Making shortcuts hidden does not disable key combinations that you assign to them.

Please check whether key combinations are still assigned.
You can use this free program RJL Software - Software - Utility - Shortcut Key Explorer - Download
to check all of them in one place.

I did not fully understand what you just said but I'll try to check using that program

    EDIT:

I just checked, and they are all still assigned.

If it helps, the hotkeys I used were:
    Ctrl + F1
    Ctrl + F2
    Ctrl + F5
    Ctrl + F8
    Ctrl + F11
    Ctrl + F12
    Ctrl + Alt + S

and all of them won't work

I got this reply from another forum.

Un-hide them and see if it works. I'm pretty sure if you just hid them, hot keys will still see them, once PC restarts and the hot key drivers are reloaded with the shortcuts still hidden, it won't find them.

    Good luck,

    EDIT:

I tried unhiding them and rebooting. But the hotkeys still don't work. And I've checked, they're still assigned

Looks like the same problem as here
How to run a script using a simple keyboard shortcut

But this is not normal behaviour, may be cooperate with him to figure out what similarities are causing the problem.

Where are the shortcuts located? I've been using hotkeys since win95. Win95 would only employ shortcuts that were placed in the start menu. I don't know if this still applies in Win7, but I've always used a folder called (surprise! ) Desktop Shortcuts placed in Start Menu\All Programs. In Win7, that would be:

    C:\Users\_MY_USERNAME_\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

And, just to irritate everyone with further info, I keep a copy of the folder on a separate partition to make restoring them after a reinstall easy.
