Why is it so hard for some people to believe this is a RTM build. No one has said this is the final, only that it is an RTM. I have re-edited my original post so as to show the winver window indicating this is RTM 7600. If so many of you do not believe then go to mininova or one of the other torrent sites. And as to possible viruses, it would appear to be virus free—this was determined after running Norton 360, and MSE (both updated to today).

I realize that there are at least a trillion people out there talling everyone that this does not exist, however, until you have like me downloaded the latest (RTM) version I indicated in the beginning then please try it, or quit telling everyone that what I have up and running is not the "RTM."

DJG also posted the winver window showing another installation; only that installation is Windows 7 Home Premimum. When you install the RTM build it ask you what you want to install, I choose 7 Ultimate since that will be the copy I will be buying on Oct 22. :)

Clearly it's an RTM build. And equally clear, it's not the final "gold" build. Seems like a semantics issue more than anything else. To me it seems somewhat misleading to say it's "RTM," when it's just an RTM build that may or may not be the final RTM build. It runs great for me though!

I think only a couple of people said it wasn't.

Many on this Forum are already running it.

There's no such thing as "an RTM build," only the RTM build, because this build will not be released to manufacturing. Just because the build number is the same does not make it the RTM build, since the build string will be different.

Until Microsoft signs off the actual RTM build, this is not RTM, for all we know it might become, but the fact is it isn't at the moment, no need for discussion really, it cannot be denied.

I also downloaded this build (roughly 48 hours ago), not sure what that has to do with anything really. Microsoft is the only source that matters in this case, and they have confirmed that they haven't reach RTM yet.

Now that is not so difficult right ?

You do not have the final gold code RTM version/build, what you have along with many others on this forum and elsewhere is a RTM Candidate Build.

RTM means, Released to Manufacturing. It refers to *THE* gold build that all other SKU's are based on. One cannot have something that is (by your own words) "The RTM build" if it is not the final code.

Again, it may be the final code, but at this point that is not known.

Many people have issue with the way you phrase it, plus the way you act like you have something nobody else does (when most people in the know already have the same version you have).

Just because torrent boards are calling it RTM doesn't mean it is. They're the lease reliable source, since they've called probably 30 builds so far RTM when they were not.

We're not saying your build doesn't exist. It does, and many of us have it. What we're saying is that it's not RTM. At best it's a possible RTM.

Exactly...thread title fails big time...as yet there is NO RTM. There are RTM candidates, but the RTM build has NOT been decided/finalised.
