Hi shabee417, I'm not sure that I understand what happened to your external HD. Did you format it or did you just find it and everything was wiped?

Yes you have deleted all data on the drive. It would have to be sent to a recovery service now.

Question: when you used Diskpart > Clean, did you use the "all" switch?

If not, you have a fight chance but it will be long and messy. You will need to use a recovery utility (several out there).

    This about Diskpart Clean:

    clean [all]

Use the clean command to remove partition or volume formatting from the current in-focus disk by zeroing sectors. By default, only the MBR or GPT partitioning information and any hidden sector information on MBR disks is overwritten. If you specify the all parameter, each and every sector can be zeroed, and all data that is contained on the drive can be deleted.

If you used diskpart Clean command - then it should be possible to recover your partitions/data intact.

If you used Clean All ( that is different ) - even a specialist data recovery will have trouble.

I do not recommend people go anywhere near the Clean All command - except in very special situations e.g. if they are throwing the drive away and don't want anyone to access the data afterwards.

These may help too. If you clean /all you may be looking at a $4000 USD price.
