Give myself permission

I run Win 7 64 bit pro version.
Whenever I try to install a complex program such as Nero multimedia suite 10,
(that's only an example it happens lots of other times as well) it pops up and says I don't have permission to access a certain file or folder. I am the only user and am already an administrator.
There are no other user accounts on the computer.
When it tells me to consult my administrator, who do I consult?
What I would like to do is set permission for myself to access all files and folders (including newly created ones).
Anyone know how to do this? I have been fighting this for over a year now.
I'm tempted to just do a clean install to a home edition as I am not knowledgeable for the pro version.

I dunno what your programs are trying to access - I don't use Nero, for example.

I assume you do Rt click the installer and select Run as Adminstrator?

I am asking a general (IE) Global question, not each and every program I try to install.
BTW Just for your info, Nero multimedia suite is 1 GB and consists of about 18 applications. Each application has help file in several different languages. Each appliction and each help file creates it's own folder during installation and user is not given the opportunity to select "run as administrator".
I started with Nero in the old days because it was better than Roxio, but it has become a cumbersome behemoth. I am not rich or I'd just switch.
However the question has been diverted from the original.

Yes, Nero has gone the way of Norton and others. It used to be the burning program. I stopped using it @ v6, and even then, I discarded all the extraneous apps and just installed the burning app.

I am not rich or I'd just switch.

If things are bugging you that much you can always use the "real" admin account.

You might also want to check out the Group Policy Editor.

BTW thanks for the tip on how to enable the administrator account. That's exactly what I was looking for.
There are times when I want to look at a file. Not always when installing something. There are also other reasons why I need to have control of my computer.
So I appreciate very much the advice.
Also just for info: Nero multimedia automatically begins running as soon as the download is complete and doesn't ask anything or give the chance to run as admin.

You're welcome for that.

Just remember that if you do decide to use that account you need to be aware your computer is more liable to a virus infection.

As messed up as Nero has become, it is just as bad as malware.
I have lost about 20 hours trying to work out all the kinks that happened when I did a clean install and then tried to reinstall Nero!
