Directory with MRT.exe on my data disk ?!

Hi,
I have directories like "a85c9eb53ab66e0034" or "de23a7d6618087e5efd793650af6ed" which are all the time created on my data partition. Inside is a file called mrt.exe which after a quick googeling seems to belong Windows.

How can I stop those annoying directories appearing on my data partition ?

cheers,
Tex

Those are from Windows Updates. If they really bother you, hide system files. I believe they will always be created, usually temporarily, on the drive with the largest amount of free space.

By the way, mrt.exe is from the Malicious Software Removal Tool...a common Windows Update file.

well my C: has more space as the data partition.

If they are temporary, why I cannot delete them ?

This is unusual! But you should be able to delete them after you take ownership of the folders and assign full rights to yourself...

Mixing a GPT data disk with MBR OS and other data disks
Hi guys Need some advice here. I have Win 7 Ultimate x64 installed on a H77 board (assume it's UEFI compatible). The OS is on a partition residing on a 160GB raptor HDD that's MBR/NTFS formatted. I also have several other 2TB WD Greens also on MBR/NTFS. I've recently gotten a Seagate...

How do you redirect data from one directory to another?

Can I set explorer columns for data directory within music library
As an example, The Itunes directory is in My Music. My Music is in a Music library, so the file details in explorer include album, #, etc. Within Itunes is the Apps directory and other data where "album name" doesn't make sense. I want it to display as a non-music directory. There doesn't...

Local Disk inside User Directory (folder)
Ok, so I just upgraded to W7 and was going through a process of organizing the "libraries" and I noticed (possibly of my own doing but am not sure) that the second drive in my system (B) was sitting there in my user folder. My question is, is that normal? How did it get there and how do I correct...
