    Dell Latitude C600

Just thought I would give it a try and what do you know. It is snappier than XP Pro on this machine. I am definitely impressed. No AERO of course but you cant have everything. Actually surprised by the HDD score, not much surprised by any of the other scores. This is with 802.11 wireless mini card and Avast running also.

    Dell Latitude C600
    P-3 @1.0 Ghz / 700 MHz (on battery power)
    512 ram pc133
    60 gb HDD
Update: No running activated Win7 Home Premium RTM
Using "True Transparency" to achieve sudo AREO effect (8mb ATi Rage Mobility 128 AGP 2X ). As you can see it does not effect the task bar but does work on all the app windows.

Has anyone tried Windows 7 on a Dell Latitude D600? I have one that has a 1.4ghz Centrino processor, 1 GB RAM and and a 30gb hard drive that I haven't tried out yet.
Based on my install on C600 (Posted above) I'm sure it will work just fine. Let us know how it goes. Can you say 1.0 WEI

I am not sure if this works with RTM but I am going to give it a shot on the Laptop...just so I can have something a little more than Windows Basic.

/\That will work on win7 RTM as well as on XP.

I have a patch that can make your windows 7 homepremium, Bussiness and Home basic to Run Windows Dreamscens. I have not tested It because I am using Ultimate ATM. So if anyone is interested to test the patch shoot me an PM.:)

I have Windows 7 running nicely on a Dell D505.

I also installed 7 on a Dell Inspiron CPx, P3 500 in this thread: Couldn't get WEI to run on it though, I guess its to low to register.

Your Dell 600 should handle 7 ok.

    Hello everyone!

I have a Dell D600 and I installed win7 on it. It works fine and fast, except for the internet. I have mobile internet, using a Huawei E870 express card (with PCMCIA adapter). I have tried updating drivers and it does recognise the data card but it will not connect to the internet. In Device Manager, the PCI Modem comes up with an exclamation mark, but update driver will give me no result.
    Anyone have any ideas?
In plain English please, I'm no whizz.

Have you tried installing the driver in Compatability mode for Vista or XP ?

Yep, tried that. The error message I get is : Get Profile Failed. This is with my Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite v9.4 software. Somebody suggested I try Mobile Partner. I did. There I get Error 777. Basically the same thing, I guess.
