    Windows Seven Compatibility mode questions.

    Hi

I have been reading around and it seems as if the Home Premuim verison of Windows 7 will not come the XP compatability mode to run older programmes is this correct?

I believe the following versions support it; Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise.

Wizkid: in light of the fact there is 5 million people viewing this section of the forum currently waiting for an RTM release, maybe a slight thread title edit would do no harm :)

Not entirely correct, It doesn't come with XP mode, which is simply an additional XP license that you can run under virtual pc. If you have a valid XP license still, you can use that and download virtual pc (it is free).

Compatiblity mode is the ability to run certain applications directly under Windows 7, by making a program believe the OS is at version X, (like vista SP2, or XP Sp3 for instance). That will still be possible.

You can always dualboot if you need to keep XP.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your replies.

I cant edit the title mods need to do this or is there away I can do this?

Most of my programmes run in vista compatabilty mode ok. So there should hopefully be no problem just wondered about XP.

Hit 'edit' on post #1, then 'Advanced edit'. You can change it there :)
