Try running Task Manager to see what is running

you could try running a sfc scan as you say it is related to minimizing a window.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I have seen it before being a left over from a file/folder that was selected or highlighted. I don't know how to prevent it, but to dismiss it, right click any empty place on the Desktop and click Refresh, should get rid of it.

you could try using process explorer. one of its features is a target program that allows you to highlight any window and show its running properties. don't know if it will pick up box, but worth a shot I guess... Process Explorer

That is a handy tool. :)
Process Explorer is more helpful for problem solving, than Task Manager.
