SO I HAVE UPGRADED FROM 7100 TO 7232 AND FINALLY TO 7600.

I USED THE PRODUCT KEY FOR 7100 AND THE SAME ONE FOR 7232, BUT IT DIDNT ACCEPT IT FOR 7600. NONETHELESS I HAVE COMPLETED THE INSTALLATION AND HAVVE SHUT DWN AND REBOOTED A NUMBER OF TIMES, SO I EXPECT I AM GOOD TO GO EXCEPT DUH WHAT HAPPENS IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS WHEN I SUPPOSE IT EXPIRES AND THEN WHAT AM i LEFT WITH NO OS AT ALL?????

    ALL IMPUT IS APRECIATED
( SCUSE THE SHOUTING, JUST DIDNT FEEL LIJE RETYPING)

you can use the built in rearm command for up to 120 days, and its always best to use a back up/extra hard drive for this sort of stuff untill you get the final real rtm version.

You could start by checking your keyboard, seems the caps lock is stuck. Once you've fixed that, you can calm down, as nothing is wrong, you can always re-arm, or simply install a newer build.

Next time, don't wipe your harddrive, just install a BETA os on a separate partition.

    Apologies for shouting accepted :).

An alternative to rearming that was pointed out to me is to use an RC / beta key to activate. That will turn it into an evaluation installation which will expire on March 2010, plenty of time to install the real product when it comes out in October.

Edit: I just found out this only works using an activation hack - Never Mind!

You can re-arm 3x after the initial expiration giving you 120 days

when the RTM is out and we download it would it technically be illegal for us to have?

I bootleg pretty much everything in existence except for windows and would like to keep it that way.

If you download it from a torrent, yes illegal, getting it through proper channels (msdn, technet) legal.

So long as you abide by the license agreements you digitally agreed to when getting your RC/Beta keys, how is downloading from a torrent illegal or even a violation of terms?
