    Hello.

What happens if you type snipping tool in the Windows 7 start menu search box?

Hi, artinusa. Try taking a look in C:\Windows\System32 for a file called SnippingTool.exe.

You didn't turn off "Tablet PC Components" in Turn Windows Features On or Off, did you?

Fwiw. Does the tablet function relate to the snipping tool? I have it turned off, on any new installation, as my first default. I still have the snipping tool??

    Hmm, seems you're right.
Was always just a community belief that Snipping tool was registered with the Tablet PC Components since Vista. Even though there doesn't appear to be any hard statement saying so from MS. They do kind of off hand mention the relation.

Was the same belief for StickyNotes as well, but that doesn't appear correct either.

NOTE: The Snipping Tool is not available in the Vista Home Basic edition. This is a part of the Tablet PC Optional Components in Windows Features that is turned on by default in Vista. If it is not turned on, then check the Tablet PC Optional Components box here: How to Turn Windows Features On or Off in Vista

If you googled with the keywords - Tablet PC Components snipping tool, and a search here of SF, you could see that belief has been around for years all over.

But it appears if it was tied in with Tablet PC Components in Vista, it doesn't appear that way anymore with Win 7.

    News to me.
