Docking Station laptop Missing Operating System

Every time I restart my laptop on a docking station, I get an error saying missing operating system. When I take the laptop off the docking station and reboot from there, it works fine.

Does your docking station contain a hard drive, or a hard drive bay? How about an external drive connected?

Boot it from the docking station and check the BIOS boot order.

We had this problem recently, too. Someone tried to boot their laptop with a USB key in it and the BIOS was set to boot from a remobable device first.

Definitely nothing plugged in to it, though? (USB-wise)

Is the dock only for power or connecting to other PC's? The boot order should be CD/Removeable drive(includes USB flash)/Hard drive. It will skip them until the OS finds a boot file.

Yes, it is CD first. I take it off the dock, and starts fine.

What about does the dock have a hard drive.
Does the dock only provide power?
Will it work by rebooting off the dock then putting it in?

So, I think it was my mistake. I had 2 USB flash drives plugged into the monitor, but I have dual screens so they're both hidden behind one another. I think that was the problem.
