Thanks Arc! Im not sure what service pack I'm running but winver says I have Windows7 Ultimate, ver 6.1 Build 7600. I believe Im not running at any SPs.
Build 7600, that means there is no service pack is installed.

You download and install Win7 orig. IconPack inst X86 by ~Mr-Ragnarok on deviantART , hopefully your issue will be solved.

You should also install SP1. Hold the Windows Logo key and press Pause/Break. In the windows that opens click Windows Update in the lower left pane. In the next window in the upper left, click Check for Updates. SP1 may be included in the offered updates, if not install the updates and do the same steps again until SP1 is offered.

Also try this: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Hi again, I tried your suggestions but sadly, none of them worked. I installed SP1, I did the sfc /scannow and installed the Icon pack Arc suggested. Im not sure whats wrong but nothing changed even I did those things.

After installing SP1, the icon pack will not work. Coz it is for build 7600

As everything failed (some fixes really have nothing to do in this issue), can you perform a Repair Install ?

I have tried several different solutions that were previously posted on this tread but I ended up trying something different.

I found out that inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer there was a Key called "Shell Icons", and inside that Key there were multiple values pointing to personalized icons used by HP theme that was no longer being used.

After deleting the key Shell Icons and restarting Windows, all the icons came back to default appearance.
