    Amazon UK Price Change

Sorry if this has been posted already, but Amazon's UK price has lept up since I pre-ordered 3 copies yesterday!
15 July (yesterday) it was £48 for Home Premium. Today it's £75! Currys is still £45.
Even more amazing is that the Professional E is £90 at Currys and is now a whopping £180 from Amazon!
    What is going on?

The US price at Amazon is now $119.95 for the HP upgrade. It's probably because the original offer was for a limited quantity and had to be purchased by July 11, so the offer is now done and these are the normal retail prices.

Its probably because, as the add says, while stock lasts. I guess it didn't last too long and now the offer price has gone and so you now see the correct price.
I think it will go up even more in the new year.

So we are saying that the entire Amazon stock went in a matter of hours!
Well, I guess MS will be happy.

Still, it seems crazy that a major store like Amazon can run out in a few hours.

Anyway, the full retail price is £150 according to Amazon.

This is the UK offer for windows 7 E (full, not upgrade); it only started yesterday, 15th July, and runs until 9th August. Home premium is supposed to be £49.99, and professional £99.99. Amazon were selling at a slight discount, £45 for HP, and £90 for Pro. Amazon.co.uk appeared to sell out of these copies of home premium in about 8 hours, and has now got some new stock allocated - but at the prices orginally due to kick in from 10th august until 30th december, £79.99 for home premium (professional is due to go up to £189.99).

From 1st January 2010, it'll be at full price for retail copies, £149.99 for home premium and £219.99 for professional.

Curry's and PCWorld (both DSG) still have it at £44.99 (with free delivery) comet are advertising it at £49.99, but have it at £44.99 when you add it to your basket. There's several other places, like anvika, staples.co.uk play.com and ebuyer that have HP at the normal discount price (£49.99) and littlewoods who have it at £69.99?.

When i looked this morning both Play.com and Amazon were off the list of pre order sites and ebuyer are out of stock So yes, they ran out.

I believe the pricing will be done in three stages.
The low pre order that we had yesterday, a discounted price until its launched and then the full price.
I did read that somewhere but cant find it now.

EDIT: I took so long to type that that Arkhan beat me to it (and was a bit more accurate).

Here in Germany, Amazon's stock of Home Premiums for 49.95 Euros ran out within SECONDS. Thousands of people feel pretty pissed over here, me being one of them. Well, I ordered my copy over at Amazon UK then, but still, what happened here yesterday was a farce. Way too few copies for way too many people interested in taking advantage of this offer. Not only at Amazon but in various other online and offline shops as well.

on their website yesterday, they said the pre-sale would be on until AUGUST 15. but no, lasted less than 24 hours.

there's a slight difference between 4 weeks and 24 hours...
