    Directing apps to extended display

Is there any way to direct which monitor an application opens on? My apps seem to randomly decide which monitor they will open on.

I have Windows 7 home premium on an HP Pavillion. My display adapter is an ATI Radeon HD5450 (I think). I have the monitors set side-by-side. Everything works fine, I would just like to be able to set up Excel and Word to open on monitor 2 by default if that is possible.

    Thanks in advance.

Usually, whatever monitor you close it on, it will reopen on. That's how mine works anyway.

Thank you. It's so simple even an idiot should recognize it. Guess I'm not even as bright as an idiot.

I tested it a few times and it seems to work just like you said. Now I just have to be disciplined enough to be sure things are in the "right" place when I close them.

I see you are a fellow North Carolinian. I live in Hendersonville.

How do I "tip a scale"?
