    Problem with richt32.ocx

I would like to clarify that I am working on 64-bit windows 7.

I recently got back into playing an old game called Jedi Outcast and wanted to install a kill tracker (the game is quite old and records have to kept with fanmade programs). I used to have an old one on my old system, but it seems the file required to use any kill trackers. This is richt 32.ocx. When attempting to use the program it keeps giving error 339 and saying the file or one of its codependencies is missing. So, I did a search and confirmed that it is in my computer, in my syswow64.

After several google searches I found out I could register the file with the command line regsvr32.exe %windir%\syswow64\richtx32.ocx. It didn't work, giving the error 0x8002801c, that the call to the DllRegisterServer failed. So, after more googling, I found out that I could find the file and run as administrator. Again, I was stopped with an error, only this time it read "To register a module, you must provide a binary name".

I've run out of solutionms. It seems my computer just doesn't want to co-operate with this file.

    Welcome to Seven Forums wanderingutlaga.

You can try Windows Compatibility to make sure it will run in Win7.

Thank you! Compatability mode lets it start up now :) Now I just need to test it.

Groovy! I hope it will work for you. Many games do have an update for Win 7 too, although some may cost you.
