    If I were to...

... buy 8GB's of memory (RAM) for my PC, I realize that my current Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit installation will still be limited to using 4GB total (I've got 768MB on my GFX card so only 3328MB will be used by the OS, that's why I only have 3072MB [3GB] memory now) but would my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit installation still benefit from the 8GB's?

Basically I'm wondering; Will there be some kind of limitation on the 8GB's because I have Vista 32-bit on my machine?

I'm eventually going to upgrade to a 64-bit OS as my mainstream OS anyways, so it's not really going to waste. Also, could anyone recommend some good performance DDR2 memory modules from this website? I was thinking either 2 x of these (1066) or 2 x of these (800)... I'm not sure if I need to jump up to 1066 yet, looking for 6.0+ WEI rating if that helps...

    Thanks in advance!

it would not matter which memory you took, as WEI scores are limited to a max of 5.9 anyway

besides, WEI scores should not be the only things that matter! better performance should be the thing you go for. With better performance comes better WEI scores. So go for the best RAM you can afford.

Faster is always better If you can afford both, then pick the faster ones.

I'm a fiend about getting decent price/performance ratio hardware though, I can afford to buy about $350 worth of memory right now. I've read that my Q6600 will perform better with 1066 memory than with 800 memory, is this correct? Are the memory modules that I selected for 1066 fairly high performance right now?
