    Resuming Windows

I have a Dell laptop that I went to turn on. The message "Resuming Windows" came on for about 5-10 seconds, then the computer turned off. Now when I press the power button nothing happens. No lights no noise nothing. I'm hoping its just stuck in sleep mode or something. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Try unplugging the laptop, remove your battery, wait 30 seconds, replace battery, plug system back in and press the power button. Does it work now?

I did that but no change. Its only a little over a year old. I hope it didn't just take a dirt nap.

If you're sure it's plugged in, you may have to let someone look at it. If it doesn't work in one outlet, try another you know has voltage (or plug a lamp or something into the outlet you're using to make sure it works).

Also, if you can get hold of another 'brick' plug made for that laptop, you could try that, or take it to radio shack or someplace that might have the ability to check the voltage output.

Some laptops won't start if the battery has been fully discharged or is totally dead, even with a power adapter connected. Leave it plugged in for 5-6 hours and try again.

Look at your lights....what lights are on when it's plugged in? Any lights when you unplug it?
