Admin account help

I have a ASUS laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I am the only person that has a user account on here. My account has full admin privileges. One day I restarted it and when it came to the login screen there was a separate admin account next to mine? I did not create this. The account did not have a password, and when I logged into mine and went to user accounts it will not allow me to delete it. Should I be worrying? How do I remove it where to mine is the only account?

Hi Grego86. Welcome to the forums.

Maybe the hidden admin account was somehow enabled:

Hi Grego86, did you recently have a Windows update for a .NET Frame Work? that created a new account here. In trying to delete did you go to Admin Tools/Computer Management/Tools/Local Users and Groups/Users and try deleting it from there?

built-in admin account vs regular admin account
Pretty basic question (I think). Is the built-in administrator's account exactly the same as a manually created local administrator's account privilege wise? Or does the built-in possess inherently elevated privileges? I have googled around, however, I can't find a clear answer for this. ...

I have always been running admin and even until now I run as admin. But, I have been doing a little bit of research and realize that using a standard account is a safer practice. I have never even used a standard account. Is using a standard account a better practice? Also, how does doing average...
