what file, what folder, are you a regular user, or admin, who owns the file, is it from a previous install?

Issue is on my laptop and I am the only user. Attempts to use the "send to compression (zipped) folder" with a right click result in an access denied message. Laptop was changed from VISTA to Windows 7 about a year ago using a clean install. I believe that the zip operation was working after the change but I am not positive.

Maybe a file association issue? Try this and use the .zip association.
