A minor issue I'm having.

Just wanted to know if any of you guys that are dual booting have issues seeing you other OS's drive while in Windows 7? I'm running XP on my main drive & 7 on a seperate smaller drive, when in 7 I can see the drive in my drive manager but it won't let me open it & it does not show up when I open my computer. This is not a big deal because I do not store anything on that drive except for XP & programs that are installed for XP.

Mike

You need to mount the other drives/partitions. I think it is a bug. It was in the earlier builds.
Open the Administrator tools and "Computer Management" and "Disk Management", and assign a letter to the unrecognised partitions.
If you get lucky, you will find you can then boot into the other options. If not, use a tools like EasyBcd to allocate the correct letter to your other boot options.
I have not looked in the tutorials. It may be there, but maybe Andy can put it in. I feel sure that it will be sorted with the next release.
I have heard, from a poster on another forum, that it is a security function. That doesn't make sense to me. The poster was unable to give me a link to any statement from Ms on the subject.

In my experience, it only prompted me to allow the access as an admin. Otherwise, I could see the files just fine.

Quite possible. There are quite a few posts on this in other forums also. I believe, (Have not tested it), if you run the installation DVD from within your already installed OS, then it will automatically mount the alternate OS.
That was one reason for my comment " That doesn't make sense to me"

Yeah, what you said about running the DVD from the existing OS is true because I installed once from the existing OS (It automatically found the other partition) and once from booting from a USB drive (It didn't).

No I just booted the disk normally & when it was finished installing I could not see my XP drive, in computer management I can see it but not open to view files, it wouldn't even give me the option to delete, it was grayed out.

I believe this is by design. All you need to do to fix the problem is to go to disk management. Right click on the partition that contains the OS and select 'change drive letter or path. Click on 'Add' and pick an available letter. Click on OK. When done you should now see the partition in Windows Explorer.

Minor 7 issues
Apologies if these have been covered, but I'm unable to find solutions as of yet. 1) Default directories - some applications keep your most recent folder as the default, many do not. Example of the latter: Yahoo Mail (for attachments) when using IE8 always goes to Desktop, no matter where you...
