This isn't such a big deal but I was just curious, does Windows 7 have any way to sort folder contents in true alphabetical order, like older versions of Windows used to?
So that it sorts files like this:
1.txt
2000.txt
30.txt
4.txt
I have a folder which has 493 sub folders. When I choose sort by name it does not do so alphabetically the way I expect ie. first by number and then by letter. The first 458 folders are sorted alphabetically as expected. Then there is another group of 35 folders at the end that are sorted...
I have my contacts grouped into a number of categories and need to see names in each category listed alphabetically but cannot find simple instruction in the Help Files - can anyone advise please?
Edit - Pls excuse missing letters in title of post!!
thats the default name of the folder where i keep all my saved bookmarks. i sorted everything so that it sorts alphabetically (when i go through the steps inside "show all bookmarks") but when i check it in my browser, it doesnt sort. do you know what to do?
thank you
WLM 2011 won't sort the "to" column alphabetically. Sort works OK with my other columns--subject, size and sent. Any ideas why the "to" column won't sort alphabetically? I've tried a repair. Windows reports that was successful, but it did not fix the problem. Thanks.
