    messed up my user folder

I'm not sure how to explain this so please bear with me. Long story short after messing up moving my folders in my user folder to my second interal hard drive then moving back, I've been getting a strange error in my user folder. For some reason my user folder has a wierd "shortcut" in it which redirects it back to itself. but it only appears in my folder when i go to my user folder from the start menu and not through C drive - users - [USERNAME]. For some reason i'm not allowed to delete the "shortcut".

I've posted screenshots to make my point more clearer. The blacked out bits are my user and on the third phot I pressed "Restore Default".

    Hi, welcome to SevenForums!

I've read this about 4 or 5 times but I'm still unsure of what you're talking about. Maybe you haven't explained it clear enough. You say there's an error in your user folder? What is the shortcut called? In order for me to help you get rid of this problem, you're going to have to provide clearer information on this issue. :)

Oh. Sorry, thanks for explaining further. I understand now. :)

What happends when you try to delete this folder? Do you get an error message/messages? If you do, please post what it says here in the thread.

    Hello mk10,

See if removing Pictures from the full path of your user folder in your 3rd screenshot to only have the path as C:\Users\user-name instead, then click OK may help.

You could also use OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to double check and make sure that the S-1-5 key for this user account has the correct full path of C:\Users\user-name entered, and not the path in your 3rd screenshot above.

    In addition:
It also looks like you need to use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to restore your My Pictures folder as well. The one you have showing in your screenshots only says "Pictures" instead of "My Pictures", and does not have the default icon.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Hi, mk10. I am wondering if your issue is that you only got the visible folders out of your user directory. Could you please post a screenshot of what your user folder looks like with hidden folders/files shown?
