Let me get this straight (correct me if I'm wrong).

You installed W7, and obviously the account you created during installation was an administrator account.

You then activated the built-in administrator account, gave it a password and then from that account changed the other account to a standard account before disabling the built-in account.

The reason you are getting these prompts without the ability to accept a password is because the only administrative account on your machine is currently disabled.

What you should have done is to create a separate account but give it standard privileges. You should then use that account instead. I would reenable the built-in administrator account, change the account back to an administrator (give it a password) and then create a new standard account for everyday use. You can change UAC level so that you won't be bothered by as many prompts, but note that disabling it altogether substantially weakens the security of your system. Don't forget to disable the built-in administrator account afterwards.

The way he describes it, it sounds like a fake AV program. Scareware/malware, something like that.

I've never seen a scenario where the system ask for a PW, and then doesn't give the opportunity to enter one.

You should not enable the built-in administrator unless there is a specific reason for doing so, and you should always disable it once you have finished using it.

The account created during installation is, as I mentioned previously, an administrator account. This must be password protected so give it one that you can remember. Failure to give this account a password can lead to problems with UAC if prompted. Other user accounts, which should be standard ones, can be protected with a password or be password-free (your choice).

This would defeat the object of a Standard account if you just want Confirmation then change it to the Administrator account

I am 14 and will be 15 this Saturday - Not impossible and is within the age requirements of International laws

Thanks - Okay please create an Administrator account and do not give it a password - Does it have to enter a password into UAC?

If so please remove the passwords of ALL Accounts TEMPORARILY and then see if UAC asks for a password on an Administrator account

Just to make things clear :

    -You should have 2 accounts

    -1 Standard account (Personal)

-1 Built in Administrator (Emergency use)

    ________________________

If not then please let me know How many accounts there are and there privileges as to Standard or Administrator

    Thanks,
    Josh

Good god, just back up your stuff and reinstall Windows. Then don't screw it up!

You could have already had it done by now....twice!
