Windows that are open underlaps taskbar sometimes

As you can see from my pic, windows media player underlaps the taskbar when maximized. Also websites such as facebook have the bottom part going under the taskbar so i can't chat to people.

    Help is much appreciated!!

Try something simple like auto hiding the taskbar and then undoing it.

You could also try moving the taskbar from the bottom of the screen to the side or top...and then back again.

Hmm...I always have mine set to AutoHide, so I'm not sure of the normal state, but removing the AH option results in the window being behind the taskbar here.

I know this is really a workaround rather than a solution, but is there some reason you don't use Auto Hide? It does give more screen space, so to speak, and it's always there if needed just by mousing to the edge of the taskbar location. Food for thought?

I am not an expert but I just resize my window so the status bar is above the taskbar. Grab a corner and resize it to where you want it and make sure the status bar is above the taskbar. Every time you reopen the browser/program it should be the way you want it.

You might try one of these apps to always keep your window on top:

Always On Top - Keep any window visible always

Nail It will keep any window on top (free)

Elias Fotinis DeskPins :: Make Any Window Topmost

Or, maybe the problem is the manner in which you are 'maximizing' your windows. There are many different opinions as to the best way to maximize windows --- so that your problem can be avoided.

How To Open A Program In Minimized, Maximized or Normal Window

Window remembers the size it was last closed. As long as you don't change the size, it will from now on open the size you have selected.
