Re-booting Windows on a routine basis?

    Hello

Is it possible to schedule my computer to shut-down and re-boot into Windows 7 on a regular basis every 15 days without me being there to actually do this?

I have two security cameras connected to my computer which record continuously. The problem is that after 15 days the software stops recording from the cameras and I have to re-start the software again to start recording.

My problem is that I do not have a keyboard, mouse or monitor attached to the computer, and if I want to start recording again then I have to go through all the faff of carrying my monitor around the house to connect to this computer.

I would be most grateful for any advice on how I can get my computer to shut down and re-boot itself again without me involved in the process. That way I can sidestep the inherent software problem of stopping recording every 15 days.

    Cheers

You will want to have a look at the following Tutorial. How to Create a Task that will Shut Down the PC Automatically. To do a restart instead of a shutdown it is slimly a matter of changing the command. When you reach step 4, instead of typing shutdown.exe with the arguments /s /f, you want to type "shutdown.exe -r -t 00" Let me know how you go.

If you go into the windows power options you can set the PC to shut down when you press the power button. Then you just press the power button on your case and windows will power down just like it does if you drill though the menus. Press it again and it will boot up. If you need to, set windows to auto log you on.

You'll still have to remember to do it every 15 days or so, but you won't have to lug a monitor keyboard and mouse around to do it.
