PLEASE HELP: Entire Picture Folder Disappeared!

    Someone please help!

I go to my library and I see Videos, Documents & Music but NO Pictures. When I save a picture from the internet it takes me to the folder automatically, here I can see all my pictures. However when I try and find the Picture library on my laptop it cannot be found?

It was there about a week ago. I performed a SYSTEM RESTORE which did not resolve the matter. I also tried "Restore default Library"

Someone PLEASE help, this is driving me insane as I am unable to upload pictures because I cannot find them, unless I know the file name to search by

Hi Logicearth... yes I do have a "My Pictures" at that location but does not have all my pictures, only a few... there are sooo many more that are there when I save a picture.

Richc46 - I shall have a look at that and come back to you if it resolves the issue.

    Thank you for replying!

    Hi Rich,

I did back up sometime ago but they are not lost as such, they are somewhere on my laptop because I am able to see them when I save a picture. And I can retrieve a "lost" picture if I remember the filename. So the Picture Library itself has just been relocated, I just do not know how to locate it and put it back where it was...

Alright can you get to here: D:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore
It your Pictures are not there they might be in C:\Users\Public instead.

    Hi Logicearth,

Thanks again for replying, I could not find anything at the first location and the second location retrieved some but not all of my pictures.

With the back up and restore, just pick a date and everything will go back to the way it was. Back up first, just in case you lose stuff going back to the past.

Try saving a picture off the net... when the box pops up asking where to save it, (the one you DO see all your pics in) just look at the Left column or in the address bar to see the path to where they are saved. You might have changed it by mistake. Then just navigate to that location and have a look. If they are there just move them back to "My Pictures" And dont forget to change the save folder next time you save a pic. If you can a screenshot of the save box might help us if you want to post it...just use "snipping tool"

In case you have a missing Library, this will show you how to restore all of the default Libraries in Windows 7.
Go to this forum tutorial and it should put libraries straight.
Click here > Libraries - Restore Default
