Date and Time Permission Problem

Hello everyone,

I want to synchronize my time in the Internet Time section. But when I click Change settings it says the following:

Unable to continue
You do not have permission to perform this task.
Please contact your computer administrator for help.

There's only 2 users on this computer.
User (administator) and Guest (Guest account is off)

Here's a screenshot of the message.

As you can see I even turned it all the way down in the user account control settings so it doesn't ask for permission anymore and I rebooted my computer but it still gives the same message

Greetings,

Try it by using the hidden Admin Account: Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

If it works just hide the Admin Account again and do make sure you've switched UAC back on.

Thank you for replying.

I've enabled the Administrator account, and then clicked on start --> Switch user. Then I logged in to the Administator account and it was configurating / preparing my desktop (first time I log on to it). Then I went to the date and time settings and the exact same error occured.

Greetings

I didn't even got to the sync error section. I got till the Unable to continue part. I remember that the first time I've tried it I got the sync issue. Then I tried it again and suddenly it said unable to continue. And since then, I'm not able to get any further even if I turned it off.

Although this thread is OLD, it will still come up in web searches, so I wanted to post the solution I found elsewhere here:

Open a command window with admin. privileges.
