    Microsoft Downloads

It has been more than a while since any and all Microsoft websites (strangely, excluding the Security Essentials website) are completely frustrating me. The Downloads website, IE, BeautyoftheWeb... I cannot grab any downloads from Microsoft, which is, of course, a big problem, because I cannot upgrade C++ Redistributables, DirectX, can't download IE...

Is anyone else having any trouble? I have to resort to downloading IE9 from other websites, but even that is surprisingly difficult, because they all seem to point towards Microsoft's servers, which simply do not respond! The other strange thing is that, last time I did manage to find an alternate download location for IE's installer, starting that downloaded the needed files from MS just fine! Windows Update also works perfectly for me, but I have never had the actual IE9 upgrade through it.

I would appreciate it if someone could upload the regular (small) IE9 installer, downloaded directly from Microsoft. At least that would be something. English version, of course.

    YAY

Thanks a lot for this, really appreciate it. I just don't understand why I can't download any installers from MS. This whole thing started about a week before they upgraded the look of the Downloads website.

    Hi,
the problem isn't WU at all, I just literally never got an option to upgrade IE to 9 :/
Probably because I'm from Europe or something. I never thought of it as a problem because I simply downloaded the installer instead.

I am in Europe as well and I do not have this problem. I have update to IE9 long time ago via Windows Update, even though I don't use it very often.

I am not sure what to suggest, but I thought I would mention that the problem is not universal.

Did you hide the IE9 update, I did and then had to re-enable it from the MS update site so I could get it, as it wasn't on auto update anymore.

    No, I didn't.
I guess it doesn't even matter now, I got it installed.
