    Logging Off/Shutting Down Forever...

Keep trying to turn my laptop off and it keeps saying either 'Logging Off' or 'Shutting Down' forever until i manually turn off my laptop by using the power button.

Anyone know why this is happening???????

Hello KhazR, welcome to Seven Forums!

It sounds as if something the PC manufacturer placed in the msconfig startup file is not shutting correctly, as a start, have a look at Method Two of this tutorial at the link below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Are you sure you don't have an unfinished windows update? Can you upload a perfmon log just in case?
Post back if you need help with that...

This can be caused by just about anything. Hanging software, misbehaving driver, etc. Use System Restore to go back to a point before it started.

Please do the following and then post the saved html as an attachment in your next post.

    HTML Code:
Run a System Health Report -
START | type perfmon /report - a viewer will appear | Click on "File" and "Save As" an HTML file (default file extension)

Did you save it with the .html extension? If so, if you double click it..... Your browser should open and you should see lots of wonderful stuff about your system that you'll never want to be without from now on....

Thx for that, got it now. Seems all ok to me...

So it's not something obvious... please give us some history on this system.
Did it run well and these problems started all of a sudden?
Could you fill out full system spec's please?
