Windows 7: What issues can arrise with Windows 7E?

I think MS made IE a "removable" add-on structurally long ago. But if Windows is installed with IE, removing it might disable some other add-on features, including 3rd party apps as well, but not core components.

Looks like some standard CYA verbage from MS.

It must be a different (re-compiled) ISO as i've install 7600 Ultimate for UK & it's definately not an 'E' revision (exactly as it should be IMO i the EU)

I did the same on a previous build(can't remember which one now) and I did not have any issues.
I have disabled IE8 earlier as a functionality test but while using media player, i get a scripting error when searching online media as it tries lo launch a browser. (clicking 'yes' does not work)

Windows 7-E will only have the iexplore.exe removed and will not affect any 3rd-party apps, all IE components will still be shipped with the OS because thousands of applications depend on IE's components and Microsoft cant afford to create two branches of Windows 7 and cause thousands of compatibility issues

im intrigued to see what happens when you open apps etc that require a wepage, like some certain things you click on or install it automatically opens a webpage which is always automatically done with IE even if say firefox is set as default browser.

also for users of windows live messenger when you click on the little hotmail envelope at the top of the contacts window it automaticaly accesses your email inbox through IE.

Oh, thank you. I cannot face the day without having heard an expert opinion on how much IEx sucks. Now that that is out of the way I can finish my coffee, have a bowel movement and carry on with life.

No, wait, something is missing..... I still need to be told that Macs are the only REAL computers for smart people and if the everyone in the world switched to Linux we would have peace in the Middle East....

Oh well, I must somehow carry on anyway.....

Those are the types of 3rd party apps I was referring to. MS cannot stop dependency coding in all 3rd party developers. And so it is a CYA statement on MS's part.

i am far from an expert,as i started off my post with the word 'personally' i figured i was getting my point across that i was just giving my personal opinion on it and nothing more.

ah i didnt understand what a CYA was sorry,so i guess anything like that will possibly just give a script error type warning like orbital's shown from wmp in the earlier post?
