What issues can arrise with Windows 7E?

I've just deactivated IE8 (thru 'Turn Windows components on or off') and get this message...

What issues can arrise with Windows 7E?-capture.png

This leads me to believe that there may be more underlying issues with the removal of IE8 for the 'E' release of Windows 7 than is actually being reported...

I've checked Windows Update & that works ok, but as this is my main machine I can only test certain environments momentarily.
       Note
Without an actual 'E' release certain functionality cannot yet be tested

       Information
Yes there are ways to download an explorer in an 'E' edition but it makes me wonder what CORE system components rely on IE files

Anyone care to add any feedback

The trident engine stays on the system. Apparently all that is removed is the actual binary (ie.exe), all other stuff remains on the system.

I myself have never tried it, as IE8 is my preferred browser. And E version or not, the minute I install Win7, I will also load IE8, it is only one additional step I need to perform.

personally i think IE8 sucks the big one,if when i get windows 7E there are no underlying problems due to IE8 not being present i will be installing firefox and leaving IE in the past

It just seems a bit strange that the 'E' revision will have no IE but when you try to 'disable' it it warns that it might stop other apps functioning.

    Catch 22 or what?? LOL

I think that IE the browser will be removed in the E version but the core files that IE shares with the OS will still be there...

In Windows 7 E they have left the backend of IE8 still in but when you disable IE in a full version it disables more than just the exe file and shortcuts maybe. Just a thought.

I believe it does indeed overlap with other components of the operating system (Explorer?), which is why removing it once it's in could affect some settings and the like, or potentially require reinstallation of some programs that assumed certain things were going to be present.

Presumably in the "E" version they'll find a way to still incorporate the things they need without the actual web browser being functional. I'd still expect a message like that if someone goes to remove IE after installation though.

Do a backup of your OS first and go ahead and see what happens.
I did the same on a previous build(can't remember which one now) and I did not have any issues.

I have a question - if I select European country/region while installing will it automatically install the E version? Or is it a different ISO like it was with XP/Vista(?)?
