    Selling my computer, erase data, How to


    Hello,

    I'm Selling my computer and i would like to know if there is a way to keep the OS and remove the data or what do i have to do to remove all the data and give the computer just with the OS

    Do a full clean & full format in command prompt.
    SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation
    Than reinstall.

    You could also just uninstall any programs that you don't want to pass along (or can't legally pass along), delete all your own documents and files, and then wipe the free space on the drives with something like CCleaner. It will also do multiple wipes for security (and it's free).

    I have another pc that also i'm selling but that one doesn't have the OS dvd, what should i do in that case

    What do you want to do? Do you want to wipe the hard disk clean?

    i want to erase all my data ( pics , videos , game , etc ) and leave just the windows , in both pc's
    I have the installation dvd for one the desktops( windows 7 64x ) but i don't have the dvd for the other ( does not support w7 64x )

    for the one that you have the dvd, then follow Theog's advice.

    Does the other computer have a "factory restore" option?

    The make and model of the laptop without a DVD is ?

    Theog will probably jump in here with some helpful info for you once he knows the manufacturer and model.
