    Windows 7 7000 causing crashes

I have my computer listed in my profile, so if you want the specs please refer to there.

I have found that the 7000 version of W7 has cause severe system instability for me, with my system crashing every hour or so at least.

I recently upgraded to the 7600 version, which seems to have completely remedied all of the crashing and instability problems I was having. The computer has currently been up for about 22 hours with no crashes so far.

Does anyone have any clue as to what was causing this? This was more of a heads-up post to the possible instability of 7000, but I am interested if this happened to anyone else or not.

build 7000 has expired, and is likely automatically rebooting.

Hi CPhoenix, welcome to the forums.

BETA 7000 has started the 'bi-hourly shutdown' process and will soon be completely unusable.

I would suggest getting the 7100 RC from Microsoft's Website as soon as possible.

His specs say 7600 so i would think that "I recently upgraded to the 7000 version" is just a typo and should read "I recently upgraded to the 7600 version".

YupYup is correct, that was a typo.

I hadn't noticed that 7000 had expired. I just build this computer about 3 weeks ago and I had to do a ton of troubleshooting to get the computer stable (the video card and MOBO were both defective), and when I got the new card and board I only assumed that the (now different type) of crashes was assumed to the software.

Guess it's not a crash though, more of a UPDATE WINDOWS NOW type of thing :P

    That explains it, then. Thanks.

    Do two things.

    1. Download, burn and boot off of this:
    http://www.memtest.org/download/2.11...+-2.11.iso.zip
If you get any errors remove some DIMMs and retest until no errors.

    2. Backup your files and do a clean install of Windows 7 x64 WITHOUT upgrading from a previous version.

I have already ran memtest on both of my mem sticks. If you reread my first post, you'll notice I said my system is now completely stable on build 7600

The crashes I was originally experiencing was due to a defective motherboard, after I replaced that I was experiencing the every-hour shutdown which was apparently due to the inactivity of 7000.
