thanks bill i wanted to keep thumnails showing my covers i just wanted the little adobe icon on the bottom right of the thumbnail removed, i have achieved this but it also removes all file extension icons on thumbnails ,ie movies, mp3 etc, some movies depending on the file type open in different applications so i wanted to keep them but just lose the icon on my pdf files.

Change default location for "Change Icon..." button?
In Windows 7, all the good icons are in %SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll, but we're still taken to the old SHELL32.dll when it comes time to change an icon. Is there a registry key or something that we can change to remedy this?
