Welcome to Seven Forums dennylutz. As you say, there are many books. What are you looking for? The basics (Windows 7 for Dummies, not being a wise guy), Everything in depth (Windows 7 Bible)?. Lots of screen shots (Teach Yourself VISUALLY Windows 7)?
A lot will depend on whether you just want to familiarize yourself with Seven, or want something to refer to throughout your time using Seven. The above are some examples. I haven't had the need as moving from XP, and this site, were enough. A Guy
Bill is right there are many Books out there and for me I wanted to know the basics of Windows 7 then get more advanced and start to help others here :)
So I brought this one
Windows 7 in Easy Steps: Amazon.co.uk: Harshad Kotecha: Books
I did the same with that Home Networking and now I know a lot about what is required to connect to the internet (Ip address , DNS and Subnet mask)
But if there is a certain question you are looking for Ask and we might be able to answer it without the expense of buying a book

Sorry - Since I did not know your location I could not find an appropriate currency
Also may I add that it supports all Versions and mentions what Limits there are with all the different Versions of Windows 7 e.g RAM Limits

There is nothing "official" that I found. But this book is the best as far as I can tell: http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596806408
Hello Denny & Welcome to SevenForums!
Some very basic stuff here. It's not a book though - https://www.sevenforums.com/news/3170...tml#post330006 .. more like a pdf.

if you want to save some money, and read a quality yet free ebook instead, then i recommend Windows 7 Power Users Guide - you can download it direct from the author.
