How much to upgrade vista ultimate to windows 7

We see prices for windows 7. The thing i'm wondering is how much does it costs to upgrade vista ultimate to windows 7 ultimate?
I already have vista on my notebook, if price is fair why not to just upgrade to windows 7.
I couldn't see any threads about it that's why i'm asking

I've been wondering the same thing for a long time now, but apparently MS isn't going to do a major discount for genuine (and conned) owners of Vista Ultimate.

So we won't have any advantage even we have licence. This is too bad. Do you know any webpage that gives prices for them?

Question: Do you really need Ultimate version?

I have no intention of purchasing a W7 key, or of pirating. Instead I take the legal/free route of reformatting every few months, which I would be doing regardless.

1 question: How do you obtain the installable media that you are using to do this install in the first place? I'm not aware of a free download or otherwise obtainable disc that you can get and use this "method".

True, but without a domain at home...can you really play with features like "ability to join a domain"?

Yes, the advantage is that you can get Windows 7 for the Upgrade price and not the full install price.

PParks, you can usually get ahold of OEM discs and sometimes even retail and simply use trial codes (enter no key or series of 0's usually). They expire in 120 days with legit re-arms, but I reformat before then anyways.

Avoid the risk of illegal tools like crackers, have full access to updates, and I have yet to run into issues with restricted function. This can also be done with the RTM version release many of us have already 'mysteriously' gotten a hold of.
