Burn image to USB drive
Hi,
I am wondering if it is possible to burn an image iso to a USB driver and by which mean?
I googled about but didn't find a clear answer. Replies are sometimes contrary and divergent.
Thank you

Hello Sevener,
You could use Part 2 in the tutorial below to extract (burn) a ISO to a USB drive.
Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool
Hope this helps,
Shawn
that's because you don't "burn" stuff on USB.. You only burn data on Compact Disks, which is probably why you can't find results from google
Thank you for your answer.
@Brink, is Windows7 USB tool propre to windows 7 or we can use it to create any CD/DVD?
Thanks
You're welcome.
The Windows 7 USB Tool will run on Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) to burn any ISO to CD/DVD or to create a bootable USB. :)
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit)
- Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is recommended)
- 50MB of free space on your hard drive
- DVD-R drive or 4GB removable USB flash drive
FOR WINDOWS XP USERS
The following applications must be installed prior to installing the tool:
OK, thanks again.
Actually, I would like to burn a CD content, not iso image to obtain bootable USB for windows. I wish to copy a CD content to USB to avoid carrying the CD all time.
Some notebooks don't have CD drive, so if we can burn CD/DVD content to USB stick this will solve the issue of the absence of CD drive.
So I asked if we can use windows7 USB tool to burn the CD content to USB drive.
Yes it does. you may use it for disks or USB drives. An iso will be need to make it bootable and work like the CD. This will create an iso from a CD\DVD ISO CD DVD image
This one may be better just to create a iso from a CD/DVD ISO disk ...it's free
Thankyou very much.
Just one last think please, I am a little bit confused, can we burn an iso image virtually without need to CD? I mean, burn the iso image to virtual CD drive, without need to insert a CD physic support?
I try to do it but I have a message that a CD is not inserted!
If you want a good general purrose USB "burner" you could do worse than to use YUMI - Multiboot USB Creator (Windows) | USB Pen Drive Linux. It even has support for a windows 7 Install iso.
