    Hi fellow forumers,

This has been an issue at work - Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit (Server 2008 R2). Just had the same error message whilst opening (at home - not on any machine at work) Serif Web Plus X4 by attempting to: Start (Windows 7 button)/Application Name in Menu/Applcation 'document' [web site]. Program then launches anyway. Running Comodo Internet Security (Version 5.4.189822.1355) - which reports that application is not 'Digitally Signed' - wonder if this is a problem and also 'add-ins' in Word 2007 that may not be digitally signed?

Creating a new shortcut to Firefox from the Firefox.exe file solved this annoying problem for me also. So simple - many thanks for this advice. Hope it works for others.

A fix for "There was a problem sending the command to the program." in Word 2013 is at
Fix for There was a problem sending the command to the program
I expect that a similar fix will work for other Office apps and for earlier versions of Office apps.
