    Crash and now destruction!

    Hi there,

My labtop crashed the other day during a windows update and now all of a sudden I have no sound and my task manager is complete blank! I have no idea what is happening and really need some help!

Here are a few images of me trying to get sound back on and what the task manager looks like .

    Thanks you!

    EDIT:
I have just found another problem. My USB and CD ports cannot read any hardware plug into them.

Also when trying to install Malwarebytes I was confronted by this:

I waited for it to load for a while, but there wasn't any change.

Hi hurtle. Welcome :). The first thing I would do is run full scans with MSE and Malwarebytes (both free).

A system restore to a point before your problems began may be in order

This will show you how to do a System Restore to restore your Windows 7 system files to an earlier point in time. It's a way to undo system changes to your computer without affecting your personal user files, such as e‑mail, documents, or photos.

Welcome to Seven forums hurtle. Have you tried to install any game hacks, cheats, etc or codecs for Media Player?

This may be of some help too SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If you can't backup your personal data and you do a clean install all your files/data will be lost forever and you will not be able to recover them.
