Might help to know what the six choices are. Also if you don't want to use ExpressGate,

you should be able to disable it in the bios and then uninstall the ExpressGate Utility from within Windows Programs and features. If you do and then decide you want it back just re-enable it in the bios and get the latest version of it from here,

Thanks for the link stormy13, the Gate sounds like quite a nifty little tool for quick access to e-mails etc.

Thanks for the links. I've never had dealings with Asus computers and the info will help me in the future.

Sorry for mistaking the Express Gate as a win 7 thing--I am at the page before one gets to windows-

"account disabled"

I am getting that 'Catch 22' feeling again- as I can't go on-line with my desktop and my new ASUS at the same time .. and cannot go on-line with the ASUS until I get an external Modem- and even if I had it I could not be n-line with both at the same time--

Try this maybe?

Try creating a new account. Maybe since it is refurbished there are issues with it.

On most if not all Asus motherboards it is the Delete key to enter the bios, don't see why they would change from that on their laptops. As for where the ExpressGate option is in the bios, on my Asus motherboard it is in the Tools section of the bios where you can turn it on and off.

P.S. It would be much easier to read your responses if you didn't quote what we have said and add your reply inside the quote.
