    OS can't recognize *.001 files

After a while time, and now I can't run FFSJ: The Fastest File Splitter and Joiner on my Win7 anymore.

Also, It doesn't display on Shell Context Menu too.

I tried to Open With the program and joint but my system doesn't recognize all kind of *.001 ; *__a files. Then I reinstalled that software but it doesn't make sense.

Now I don't know what I need to do to join these files and play in.

P/s: I also downloaded HJSplit ( similar software ) but it seem like my problem.

Can anyone help me fix this problem, please ?!?

If they are just a series of compressed archives, extremely popular with torrenting, WinRAR(which I see you have installed), or 7zip should also be able to extract the content back into its original state. Looking at the image you posted, I'd venture a guess that the archive was actually created with 7zip in the first place, judging by the portion of the file name that I can see.

*side note: generally upon creation these files are named in successive order so I'd be curious why you only have one file with a .003 ext which appears to be all alone without its .001 and .002 buddies.

First you need all the .00x files in the same folder. Then you join by going from the .001 file first, the software will recognize the rest of them and join into one file. from your pic it appears you are working on .rar file. All the files need the same name to, such as, holycow.rar.001

With HJsplit you pick the .001 file and hit join.

I solved this problem by un stick checking hide extension for know files type then remove *.rar following *.001.

But my OS still doesn't show Shell Context Menu of FFSP&J
    BTW thank for helping :)

    You're welcome.

Good you got it. If the file name is something like sevenforums.001.rar, then Winrar, WinZip or 7-Zip could join and unpack them.

A few programs won't add their context menu entries in W7 64 bit (or W7 ignores them).

There was a discussion on the "Right Click Context Menu" thread:
