If you did not check the MINIMUM Requirements then that was your fault to be honest,

also there is no problem with the Pentium 4, I had Windows 7 Home Running on an old Celeron D and Pentium 4 Before i upgraded to my current version, and it ran with few problems.

You cannot blame others for ingnorance to even check the system requirements, thats like buying a Pc game and running it on a Mac, It has to be compatible.

Hello there!

Upgrade is always a bad idea in my opinion. A clean install would do the trick also since it's an old PC most Windows itself find most of the drivers. I don't have a Pentium but my desktop is AMD Athlon X2 3600+ and 1GB RAM which runs fine.

Hope this helps!

If this was a change from XP, it had to be a clean install.

Sounds like OP has multiple issues. Be more specific Dodge2461 and someone will be happy to help you sort it out.

I have Win7 Ultimate on a 6yr old HP running an Athlon64 X2, 2GB RAM and it runs fine. I did get a graphics card so it handles Aero well.

Clean install every time is the way to go without a doubt.

Without wishing to be impolite to the OP, a rant will just put people off from replying.

Tell us exactly what your problems are and you'll get help thrown at you by the bucketload by some very knowledgeable people.

Pentium 4's can run 7 fine, providing you have enough RAM as LiquidSnak deftly points out. It will beg with 512mb to the point you can't run AV or gadgets, but 1gb seems to be the hump. 2gb will make it whistle while it works if you stick with 32 bit..

But remember they're getting old so be good to your processor and clean out its heatsink and all other case dust, repaste it if necessary. I have several running for over ten years - one 24/7 - and they respond well to cleaning and maintenance if it's done with great care.

Seconding that....Windows 7 runs GREAT on a Pentium 4.

Haha you think i did an upgrade from Xp to Windows 7?

Because i said i upgraded from it does not imply i did a software upgrade, i actually did a custom install to home then an upgrade to ultimate...

Also i Upgraded the Hardware to what i now have

I have an old system running Windows 7:

AMD Athlon XP +2400 (2.0Ghz)
1GB DDR RAM @ 133MHz
128MB 64-Bit GeForce 6200 Graphics Card
x1 500GB PATA HDD
x1 150GB PATA HDD

If you think that Pentium 4 was hurting, think again.

BTW, the poor ol' Athon XP generates a lot of heat, great for the winter.

SFC Warning
Hi guys, As we commonly use SFC to troubleshoot problems across the board, I think it's best that you're aware of how the latest variant of the ZeroAccess malware interferes with SFC. If SFC fails (and not just says it found corrupt files, it has to fail), ask for the full CBS log, not...

Anybody else getting this warning?
So I'm going to check my email this morning and I get this warning page. I go to Comcast.Net several times a day to check my email and this is a new one to me, I've gotten this page before but usually from a site I haven't been to before. I'm just wondering if anyone else has gotten this warning...

Win 7 rc Warning????
This is just odd. It has happened twice now. First on my x86 pc and just now on my Studio xps laptop. Windows action center alerts me to the fact that I do not have the most recent ,up to date version of Firefox. I do. 3.5.2 as well as the latest flash. I was thinking that I might as well install...
