My CoolIt Eliminator died yesterday. I am now using a stock cooler and my temps are up +20.

i think your ram not sufficient for working with window7. use XP or vista. for window 7 32bit you need 1 GB minimum & for 64bit 3GB.

But I have 2GB RAM, and I'm thinking of putting in an extra 2 since my RAM usage is on 60% idle

Mine is at 37 C right now at idle with Hyperthreading turned off, with it on I'm around 42 idle. Hits about 60-70 under a good load. With hyper-threading on and 100% load on all 8 threads (which never happens) I can hit about 90 C. The only way I can ever get my cpu to run over 50% usage is to run a torture test.

But none the less, Windows 7 and Vista for that matter are more demanding on the CPU that XP so they naturally are going to make your system run a little bit hotter.
