well i guess we all need to be happy with what we've got now! it don't look like it's going to change anymore...roll on SP1
Call me fool if you want to, but I´m happy with RC build 7100. I´ve decided not to upgrade to 7600, my next upgrade will happen on October 22nd.
Since I got my first PC (IBM 5150) September 1983 I´ve gone through all versions of MS-DOS and Windows. Now I feel this is it; this is what I have been waiting, the way computer should be used. RC build 7100, which I installed 5 weeks ago, is and has been the first Windows for me completely without problems. All drivers found, systems working, not a single issue*, not a single crash or BSOD. It´s fast, reliable, nice looking, easy to modify to meet my needs.
(* This was not so big issue and anyway it is now solved)
Edit: For those interested the mentioned IBM PC Model 5150 had a 4.77 MHz Intel 8088 processor, 256 kB memory, no HD and it used 5¼-inch diskettes which in the beginning could store 180 kB (later 1.2 MB). 16 colors, 320 * 200 display. Using a bit Internet I found out that the price then in Finland, 24 000 Finnish Marks, would be about €8 000 (£6 900 or $11 300) in todays money. I remember my quite a good monthly salary was then about 2 500 Finnish marks before taxes, so to get my first PC I had to use almost 10 months gross income.

I am also happy with Windows7, I really did not have any problems besides needing drivers for my printer, the rest was always found by windows update.
LOVIN IT.
I am also very happy/satisfied with Windows7. Head and shoulders above vista. Using it as primary OS. Really appreciate the fast start up/shutdown. Vista drove me crazy at times. Windows 7, very fast and very stable.
Everything I expected and more. As close to a perfect OS as there is currently.
Not happy with it personally. I feel far too restricted by all of these horrible security "features."
Going to switch to XP/Ubuntu dual boot.
I won't be happy until punkbuster works with the RTM.
