    Can not add to Favorites.

I'm not sure where this thread should go but here it is.
I have a new computer running Windows 7 and using Internet Explorer 64 Bit. Although I managed to move my Favorites list from the old computer I am unable to add to that list.
Is there a simple way to fix that fault because when I keyed the problem into the Web I was offered all sorts of magic fixes which expereience has taught me to be very carefull with.

Welcome to Seven forums BML. I saw your other post in an old thread, this is fine.

Explain how you are trying to add to faves. Is it the IE favorites we are talking about?

I'm using the method that I used with XP to 7 which is I find a Web Page I like, open the Add to favorites column, click onto "Add to favorites" Click onto Favorites which opens the list of favorites up, decide where I want to place the new Web Page and click onto Add.

I find that if I create a new folder call it anything I can add the Web Page to that and then drag it from there to where I want it but that seems a strange way to do it.

Go to the page you want, click on Favorites. At the top of Favorites there is "Add to Favorites". Click on that and a window will pop-up that has "Name" for the name you want to call it in Favorites and "Create In" for the folder you want it to appear in. Click "Add" in the pop-up and that is it.

Can not add to Favorites.-untitled.pngYou can click and drag the site icon to the Favorites tab in IE. You might have a look here: Favorites Empty in Navigation Pane - Fix to see if it may apply to you, Step one.

I know how to add to favorites but it does not work for me and I understand it is a common fault with 7. I have given up attempting to get it to work but I did try dragging what I wnated in favorites and that did work so I will leave it at that and thanks to every one who gave me advice.

What I did from my XP favorite folder was to copy the items then paste them into Win 7 favorites. then from XP "Links" I pasted to Win 7's Favorites Bar
    C:\Users\username\favorites

the 64 bit version of IE isn't quite finished I don't think, so 99% of us use the 32 bit version, it works in Windows 7 64 bit.
