How do I remove all data on Drive (USB)

Anyone know how I can completely or at best almost completely remove data and program files from and existing a 500 GB hard drive (external -USB2) ready for use again.

Is there a facility in windows 7?

Make sure the drive is connected, open Windows Explorer and right-click the drive icon (make sure you click the icon and not the drive space indicator) then click Format.

    Hello mate.

Yes Windows will do it and if you want to completely over-write the data on the drive, so it can't be viewed at all, which a format does not do, have a look at this guide linked below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.
