    Does WINDOWS.7.ULTIMATE.7600.16385.RTM have an expiry?

Hi, thinking of installing this release WINDOWS.7.ULTIMATE.7600.16385.RTM.X64 and running it instead of vista for my main os. I need to know if it expires? No point in installing it if its like the earlier builds and will expire....

30 days unless you have a valid key

or you can re-arm so it will last 120 days (that is legal, right? :s)

Thanks, with a valid key would it activate it permanently? For example if I buy a legit verison with a key when its released if I used that could I keep running this version, so I don't have to reinstall everything again?

    Growing weary of reformatting lol

I think what this user is asking is...

...whether or not the build has a "hard" expiration date after which it will cease to function - i.e. the RC time limit of March 2010. The answer, of course, is that no it does not have such a time limit. It's the RTM build, which means that, as long as you eventually activate it - with a valid retail (i.e. RTM) key - it will work indefinitely.

    1. Does the rearm work on the final RTM build?

    2. How to get elevated command prompt? Is it just running as admin?

    Thanks

    1. Yes
    2. to run the command prompt type cmd in the start menu's search, and right click -> run as admin (If you have UAC turned off then it's not necessary)

Thanks for your replys. Im going to go ahead and install it tonight and use it as my main os. I'll keep re-arming this version as sergiogarcia9 suggested. And will use my own legit key when I get my copy. Looking forward to this being my last reformat lol
