    Windows 16835 ..copying/moving files

Hi, I installed a fresh copy of W7 16835 ... I am having problems copying/moving file from one system to another. If I do an RDP into another workstation and copy large files from my current worksation to the second workstation ... the second worksation completely locks up until the copying is finished. Anybody having this problem and know how to fix it?

    Thanks

First things first we need your system specs, and networking set up

Yes, having a comparable problem with copying/moving decent quantities and sizes of files and lockups. No, don't know how to fix it, but for the time being seem to be having improved success with Teracopy (fingers crossed).

file copy from one computer to another

Hi, I am copy a single file 5GB from PC-A to PC-B and both PCs lock up.

    PC-A - Asus P5KC, 4GB DDR3, Quad 4 2.6, 500GB 7200RPM drive, ATI 4770 card, Win 7 RTM

    PC-B - ASUS P5KPL-CM used as a server only. 4GB memory, 5 7200 drives ranging from 500GB to 1.5TB each, MS Server 2008 64-BIT SP2

I hope Windows 7 does not have the same copying issues as Vista, that would really PISS me off ...stupid Microsoft can not seem to get file copying issues fixed.

LAN is 1GB via CAT6 cable, over DLINK dir-655

    Thanks

Copy your files faster and easier

TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, providing the user a lot of features:

    • Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives.
    • Pause and resume file transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click.
    • Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer.
    • Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files.
    • Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual.
    • Full Unicode support.
    • Windows 7 x64 support.

TeraCopy freezes when you try to copy a large amount of files and the integration with Windows is awful too. Absolutely not recommended. I prefer the simplistic Unstoppable Copier.
Perhaps, I didn't having problems with file copy system on Windows 7 RTM. Maybe some anti-virus or another application is screwing your files?

Oh? Teracopy works for me and the integration i find to be total. If i click on copy in the filemenu the teracopy handler pops up, if i drag the same. how much more integrated could it be?

Your system is certainly not the problem I do have 2 thoughts. First does it lock up both ways, and two it might have to do with RDP.

    Good luck

Try using the latest Beta version of TeraCopy. It works better with 7, imo. It's working perfectly for me.
