oh damn!!! :\ but hey thats reality! i guess ur probs right :P!! BUT is there any way of fixing a motherboard?? or is it gone for good? coz then ill just chuck the thing out:P coz srsly i got like 4 comps and im trying to clear things up! i do have a gaming machine but sumhow i fried the PSU so just getting my new one ay! but thanks heaps for u advice mate i think i might just take it!

No there isn't really any way to fix a motherboard. The amount of skill required to do so is generally worth more than the motherboard is.
This is the reason they just send a replacement if you rma instead of trying to fix the old one.
Every refurbished motherboard I have ever dealt with was problematic... assuming it worked at all.

You're very welcome, we like to help if we can.

You could try taking the mobo from your dud gaming machine to see if that'll get you out of trouble.

You may have to re-activate Windows, but if it gives you a working computer, it's no big deal should you have to talk to a Microsoft rep.

Hey, i have an asus p5nd2-sli mobo nvidia nforce 4 sli intel edition, i have 2 asus en7600gs silent cards, both with 512 mb of ram on them, should i use sli or just 1 video card? would it really make a big difference? or just use more energy ?
